THE SONGS
- After Life Goes By A song about hopes in conflict with beliefs.
- Mr. and Mrs. Noah Humans have always had an odd effect on the planet.
The Noahs are no exception.
- Let Me Know This is about the unspoken agreement to allow
certain things to remain unspoken.
- Bird Bird Bird A drive through town, inspired by the rhythm of
telephone wires and birds going by.
- Forsythia
A love song written in 7/4 time, being sung alternately by a
baker and a gardener.
- Family Car
First recorded in 1988, about one facet of being broke in America.
- Metropolitan Scruples First recorded in 1986, about the difficult task
of drawing ethical lines.
- Ralph to Rose This is for the dogs in Peter's Fidocentric history,
particularly Izzie and Rosie.
- How Do You Know Critics are strange, which makes the world peculiar
because everybody's a critic.
- Insomnia
This is an anthem for those of us who are regularly ignored by
the sandman.
- Winter
Winter would be a whole lot nicer if it weren't so miserable,
but we don't mind.
- Alphabet Polka First recorded in 1988. Tho sung by Lou, the theme
is biographically closer to Peter.
- Million Years If a million years were equal to a mile, then
a year would be one sixteenth of an inch.
- Amalgamated Gigawatt McGoo Our anti-deregulation song, commissioned by Wisconsin
Public Power Inc. in 1999.
